Comelec gets P1.59-B biometrics bid

MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) bids and awards committee (BAC) recommended on Wednesday a P1.59 billion bid for a biometrics project aimed at cleansing the poll body’s computerized voters list (CVL).

Comelec to open up automation source code

MANILA, Philippines—The Commission on Elections (Comelec) promises to make publicly available the source code of the automation software it will use in next year’s national elections.

Aquino has been receiving mounting calls to run for presidency, shortly after the death of his mother, former president Corazon “Cory” Aquino, on August 1.
